Large Olive Tree

The "Olive Tree" or "Olea europea" is a beautiful Mediterranean plant that brings a relaxed, sun drenched feel to patios, balconies and outdoor spaces. With its slender grey green leaves and naturally elegant shape, the olive tree is a popular choice for adding structure and character to gardens and outdoor containers.

Olive trees are slow growing and reasonably compact, which makes them a great option for smaller spaces such as balconies, terraces and courtyard gardens. They work beautifully in large pots or planters where their soft silver foliage can really stand out. Many people also enjoy pairing olive trees with other outdoor plants to create a Mediterranean inspired patio display.

While olive trees thrive in sunny Mediterranean climates, they can still grow well in Ireland as decorative outdoor plants. However, due to lower levels of sunshine, it is unlikely that they will produce olives here. Even without fruit, their distinctive foliage and timeless look make them a very popular choice for patios and outdoor seating areas.
